CLASS 1 MATERIALS


Includes stainless or surgical steel; karat gold; sterling silver; platinum, palladium, iridium, ruthenium, rhodium, or osmium; natural or cultured pearls; glass, ceramic, or crystal decorative components such as cat’s eye, cubic zirconia, rhinestones, and cloisonné; cut and polished gemstones for ornamental purposes (excluding specific minerals); and other natural materials like amber, bone, coral, etc., in their natural state.

CLASS 2 MATERIALS


Covers electroplated and unplated metal with specific lead content, plastics and rubbers like acrylic, polystyrene, and PVC with designated lead content; dyes or surface coatings containing a specific percentage of lead.

CLASS 3 MATERIALS


Refers to any jewelry part not classified as Class 1 or 2 but contains a certain percentage of lead by weight.
